FAQ

We assess every potential service user on an individual basis to see if supported living is the right service for them. They have to be capable of keeping themselves safe under little supervision and have mastered all of the independent living skills that we’ve taught them.

If you are currently receiving mental health services or have been referred to a community mental health or Leaning disabilities (LD) team, you may be eligible for supported housing. Not all persons receiving services through the community mental health and LD team require supported housing.

Discuss your housing needs with your community mental health team. If you do not have a Team but think you are in need of supported living support, please contact your community mental health team.

Every supported living service user is assigned a support worker who checks in with them on a regular basis. They will make sure that the service user is achieving their agreed weekly goals. If the service user is having any trouble, then their support worker will help them get back on track.

We believe that it’s really important for service users to be involved in their local community. Most of our service users get involved in community-based activities during the week.

We always discuss care plans with individual service users so that they can let us know exactly what they want and need from their support plan.

Each service user has access to advocacy services, should they need it. We have strong links with local advocacy groups and services.

Each service user is given their own bedroom, which we encourage them to personalise so that they feel as comfortable as possible when spending time there.

All staff are fully qualified to fulfil their role in our services. Support Worker (NVQ II/ NVQ III), NVQ V; Registered Nurses (RNLD or RMN), Degree in Occupational health.  In addition, we provide opportunities for relevant education relating to their job function.

This is based on the individual needs of each service user.  Staff, with input from their care coordinator, assess whether the service user would be able to safely leave the premises unaccompanied. Family members are also consulted on this decision.

Contact us on our dedicated referral line and we can take you through the process.
Upon your request we will schedule a free initial assessment or evaluation. At this initial assessment, a professional will meet with the service user and appropriate professionals to discuss the levels of care that meet their requirements. A care plan will be developed for the service user and we will work with you closely to coordinate and plan their transition to our services.
